A surge in demand for Blackberry has led to record profits for its maker Research In Motion (RIM).
Second quarter net profits have more than doubled to over US$287 million compared to US$140 million for the same period in 2006.
The
Canadian company confirmed that there are now more than 10 million
global users of Blackberry and the insatiable demand for its hand held
devices seems to be continuing despite concerns about the reliability
of its network earlier this year when the entire service was down for
two days.
