A guide to help company directors comply with changes to The Companies Act which came into force in October has been released by The Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition.
The new law requires company directors to consider their business’ impact on people and the environment and requires the largest companies to make such information public in annual reports.
“We also want to make sure that directors are able to implement this new legislation with the minimum of fuss,” said Hannah Ellis, co-ordinator of CORE. “It’s a shame that the government couldn’t come up with guidance itself, but with the publication of this guidance, we hope we’ve helped to fill the gap.”
