A postal strike starting today at noon is set to cause major problems for businesses throughout the UK.

The strike will effectively last for six days as any mail posted yesterday or today is unlikely to be delivered until Thursday
of next week.

The action will be a major set-back for small businesses which depend heavily upon cheques arriving through the post, with many
having to contact clients especially to ask for payments to be sent by bank transfer.
