The Office of the Small Business commissioner has lacked a head honcho for the last three months due to Paul Uppal's resignation over a business conflict of interest. However, the position has been filled and Phillip King has been appointed the interim Small Business Commissioner, of the office set up in 2017, to combat the poor payment practice in the UK, the scourge of SME's.
Rob Straathof, CEO at Liberis Finance, an award-winning finance provider, comments on the appointment.
"We wholeheartedly welcome Philip King's appointment as the interim Small Business Commissioner and especially his passion for giving small businesses the tools and support they need to thrive. His work with the Chartered Institute of Credit Management and the Prompt Payment Code means he understands the importance of funding and cashflow, and we look forward to an opportunity to work with him and his team to help promote industry best practice and champion the needs of small businesses."
