Specialist distributor, Servers Plus, has announced the B2B launch of HP's configurator and procurement tool, iQuote, which was recently rolled out for HP channel partner use. This is the first time that the tool has been made available for end user customers.
The launch represents the culmination of a six month project which has seen the distributor work closely with HP's development partners, channelcentral.net, to roll-out the online configurator to business and education markets for the first time.
iQuote provides access to HPs range of servers, workstations, desktops, andlaptops, allowing a step-by-step configurator for customers to build their own
bespoke IT solutions. The system includes real-time stock and pricing, a useful option finder, iQuote swift, and the ability to export configurations to basket or to quote for approval.

iQuote has intelligent validation checks on compatibility and completeness, ensuring customers remember all vital items and that they all work together, and even applies all available HP discounts automatically.
Originally developed as an internal sales tool for HP distributors, channelcentral.net Managing Director Tim Moyle explained "This is the first time that iQuote has been made available to B2B customers. In some ways it's a natural progression, but credit goes to Servers Plus as they had the vision to make it happen and have been rewarded with a worldwide first.
