Traditional slide decks and test papers have been replaced with innovative learning. So it’s no wonder that the brand are going from strength to strength.

Mini First Aid have worked with leading education experts to support the development of first aid courses that range from classes for children, parents and carers to work place training. Founder, Kate Ball, who featured on Dragons’ Den in 2021 and secured investment from Sara Davies MBE shares 3 brilliant examples from her 70 strong franchise network.

Lyndsey Anderson, who this year won Mini First Aid’s prestigious Franchisee of the year award has owned and operated the Edinburgh franchise for 4 years. Presenting Lyndsey with her award, Sara Davies MBE said “ Lyndsey embodies everything that is Mini First Aid, she is incredibly driven to save lives, a great brand ambassador, and a hugely hard-working individual. I am personally super impressed with the growth that Lyndsey has achieved.”

From project management at HSBC, she  moved to midwifery in her 30s (with two young children) and completed her Midwifery degree. The NHS was hard going and she was looking for a new challenge where she could still make a difference but where she could decide her own hours and have a better work life balance”

Lyndsey says “Mini First Aid was perfect for me.  I could use my knowledge and all the soft skills I had developed over the years - compassion, empathy, commitment and communication skills. The Mini First Aid values aligned with mine and It was going to be a good partnership.”

Lyndsey has grown and developed her Edinburgh and Lothians franchise whilst supporting her two teenage sons, and husband who suffers from Chronic Fatigue (M.E.)  Despite a challenging and difficult time for her family Lyndsey has built her franchise and recruited a training team. Her passion for developing good relationships with businesses and charities has helped her business grow. Lyndsey says “I don’t ever feel like I am selling anything because I know these classes make a difference to people.”

Lyndsey loves spending time following up on leads and finds that 9 times out of 10 these create new business. Although Lyndsey’s franchise covers Edinburgh & the Lothians, she is constantly looking for new business leads that not only benefit her area but also the whole of Scotland. Lyndsey initiated and set up key accounts with the Scottish Childminding association, Scottish Cot Death Trust and Kings Camp all resulting in national account provider status.

With an infectious passion for Mini First Aid, her dedication and drive will no doubt make her business grow even further.
