Business Advice for all UK firms from starting a business to flotation
The long awaited interest rate reduction has finally arrived but only just. The decision to reduce rates
from 5.25% to 5% was handed down by the Bank’s monetary policy committee by the
odd vote out of the 9 participants involved, so might not be a monthly event especially if
inflation takes any turn upwards no matter how minute.
Current forecasts for
the end of 2024 are pricing in two more .25% reductions, looking for an end of
year level of 4.75% and fair to say that rates are now going just the one way
for the next two years or so.
