CyberCX, Australia and New Zealand's leading cyber security services provider, has appointed Ciaran Martin CB as its Chairman for its newly launched UK entity, CyberCX UK. The role builds on Martin's previous position at CyberCX as Global Advisor.
In his new position, Martin will support CyberCX UK CEO, Phil Mason, in leading CyberCX's expansion into the UK, helping organisations nationwide better protect themselves against cyber threats through services such as eyes on glass security monitoring, strategic cyber advisory, offensive cyber testing, intelligence and incident response.
Martin was previously the founding CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, Head of Cyber Security at GCHQ, and Director of Security and Intelligence at the Cabinet Office. He was also appointed Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to international and global cyber security.
In addition to his enhanced position at CyberCX as UK Chairman, Martin will continue his role at Oxford University's Blavatnik School of Government as Professor of Practice in the Management of Public Organisations.
Commenting on Martin's appointment, John Paitaridis, CEO of CyberCX, said:
"Ciaran is one of the world's leading figures in the field of cyber security, with a wealth of experience in government and the private sector, and a prominent thought leader in the UK and Europe. Appointing Ciaran as our UK Chairman represents a significant and strategic step for CyberCX towards our global growth strategy.
"Ciaran's appointment not only underscores our commitment to expanding our presence in the UK market but also provides us with unparalleled expertise to deliver best-in-class cyber security solutions globally, especially within Five Eyes markets.
On his new position, Martin comments:
"Cyber security has never been more critical, with significant harm to our way of life coming from state-sponsored attacks and opportunistic ransomware breaches across the globe.
"My mission in life is to try to help create a safer digital environment. I've seen at first hand that CyberCX have the deep skills, technology, and expertise to help do just that, and to help organisations, both in the UK and worldwide, protect against cyber threats. I'm pleased to be supporting the team in this vital work."
The announcement builds on the recent appointment of CyberCX UK CEO Phil Mason and confirms the commitment to its strategy for accelerated growth as it looks to replicate its success in Australia and New Zealand as a leading provider of services across the Five Eyes countries, and looks to strengthen global security against cyber threats.
With over 1,300 employees and offices across Australia, New Zealand, United States and now the UK, CyberCX is one of the largest and fastest-growing cyber security services companies in the world.
