Riley lands entrepreneur award
Matthew Riley has landed a £5m funding package after winning the Bank of Scotland Corporate entrepreneur challenge.
The owner and chief executive of Lancashire-based Daisy Communications intends to use the package – which is free of interest and arrangement fees for three years – to expand the business and pursue its objective of becoming the main alternative to BT in business communications.
“This is such a massive prize for Daisy,” he said. “We can now acquire two more companies and create 20 new jobs and the funding will provide the foundation for our acquisition strategy.
“It’s always been our ambition to continue the company’s growth, but the £5m interest free funding means we can finance further acquisitions and look to reach that goal quicker.”
In October Riley was awarded the Ernst & Young national young entrepreneur of the year award.
